Hello! I’m Jen Urena, the owner and maker behind Storybook Handmade.
What started out as a childhood hobby, over the last 3 years has been a connection to purpose and the community. Since the beginning of 2018 I’ve enjoyed meeting so many of you and connecting over our mutual love of macrame art. Many of you have shared with me your macrame journeys that possibly started in the 60s and 70s. Others have gushed with me over our love of all things bohemian and I’ve been able to be apart of styling their home, finding the right gift, or accessory.
In the early days, I had the pleasure of sharing this craft with workshops held in local East Valley boutiques. Look for these opportunities to come back in the coming months.
Currently, you can find me as a vendor in local boutiques and coffee shops around the Phoenix Valley. More details can be found on my Stockists page.
It’s possible our paths have crossed at some of the local craft markets and this has been such a great way to meet the community, including fellow makers. Those connections have led to working with The Brush Bar for their Artist Collaboration Series. You can learn more about this project under my Shop page. Meeting the team behind The Be Kind Project and finding a way to give back was a very organic opportunity. The Maker for Good page will give you all the insights.
Ready to ship items are available directly from me, also under the Shop page. If you are looking for a custom order, please send me a message.
The work of macrame gives me such a special way to create calm and meditative peace, but the connections to community have broadened my why I look forward to the 4th year of this small business.
